Rick Cannon is the inventor of the Panel Lockout. Rick was a Local Union 3, IBEW electrician for 35 years. The inventor worked as an apprentice, journeyman, sub-foreman, foreman, general foreman and superintendent. He was a member of the Local 3 Wage and Policy Committee from 1986 until his retirement in 2009. He served on the 1986 Negotiating Committee and also served on the 2007 Employment Plan Committee. In other endeavors, Rick was President of the Bellerose Hillside Civic Association from 1987 to 1997 and ran for the New York State Assembly in 1992.
Rick’s purpose for inventing this safety device was to protect his fellow electricians from electrical shock. He was helped by inspiration he received through his prayers. The company donates a large portion of their profits to many local charities.
April Cannon is the owner of Panellockout.com,LLC and runs the day to day operations. April was also the owner of April’s Kids in Bellmore, N.Y. from 2002 to 2012. She served as the Public Relations Director of the Bellmore Village Merchant’s Association from 2002 to 2009.
